Now that we know the full functionality of our application, we were ready to create our application's architecture. The sitemap is where all of the pages of the application are laid out and organized. This shows all of the content and navigation of the entire application. Since it shows the overall flow, the layout must be intuitive. We got a lot of feedback on this assignment about page location, transitions, and overall professionalism. The page locations need to make sense for the users needs, while also reflecting the structure of websites that they are used to. Transitions between pages must allow the user to get any where they need on the site, while also dealing with edge cases.
The sitemap prepared us for our wireframes by having us layout every single screen that will be necessary to the application. Before making our exhaustive wireframes, we made simple paper prototypes to test the layouts of the most important screens...
