Personas
Using the key takeaways from our user research, we created personas to visually organize and humanize our data. Our personas contain concise information on user characteristics, technology usage, goals, desires, and pain points. They also contain a scenario in order to give context to the persona. All of the information provided by these personas were taken directly from our analysis of our research, and therefore each persona is a representation of a larger user group. These personas allowed us to perceive our entire user base as two individual people, so that we would stay within the scope of our users’ needs. Furthermore, we were able to carry our personas along throughout the design process, consistently checking in on their needs.

Iterating Based on Critique
Through critique, we learned to only focus on what matters in our personas. For example, in our first draft, we gave Crystal a specific job title to demonstrate the fact that she wasn’t a full time musician. We learned that this was a superfluous fact, and that the audience didn’t need to know that she was a veterinarian, just a full time worker. We also learned to make sure our personas were based off of data and not stereotypes. This way, we developed believable and relatable personas based off of data.
